Pre-Prep Department

Children can join our pre-prep Department from the ages of 2 years, we offer a full day and half day option.

In our pre-prep department all children participate in their daily activities from learning to recognise letters, numbers painting arts and crafts, sticking and playing with play dough. Learning to sing nursery rhymes, listening to music and an introduction to their first dance steps. Children are also taught the practical skills of everyday life, dressing up, putting their shoes on and eating skills.

4 to 5 years attend a full day 8-6 (also weeks during half term or holiday time)

All children follow the EYPS with qualified and experienced staff. Children are encouraged to develop further their social and learning skills from the recognition of letters and numbers to reading, writing, and simple adding and subtraction, whilst carrying on activities in painting, artwork, sports, music, and drama. All at a pace suited to their individual needs, our teachers are hoping to have helped develop confident, independent, and expressive five-year-olds.

A day will consist of the following:

  • Morning: Registration and welcome, read (Phonics: spelling and handwriting) and write (articulating ideas and structuring them in speech, before writing) in Small Groups, Child Initiated Learning, Snack Time, and Outing (garden and museums).
  • Afternoon: play roles, the whole class maths followed, music and art, science and geography. Outing in the garden (stanhope Garden) or in the patio to increase fiscal activity with the coaches (running, hopping, skipping, and jumping with control).

Through child-led experiences, nurseries often have a heavy focus on learning through play, and although reception will continue to incorporate play as a tool for development, there'll likely be more adult-led activities as your child is introduced to the final stages of the EYFS curriculum. Babies and Toddlers

Our babies (7-18mths) and toddlers (18-24mths) have a variety of toys and equipment to stimulate and encourage growth and development. Even our youngest children enjoy lots of messy and creative play.

Well planned ativities, observations, and continuous assessment of the children, enable us to ensure that each child is learning and achieving. Music class encourages development of speech and language. Parents are assured that their child, whatever their age, will be nurtured and cared for whilst keeping in mind the values and traditions of home.

We consider it important to have close contact with parents ot allow us to cater for the needs of each individual child in our care.
